CREATION, the poetic experimental film by the Maltese-American director Marcelle Abela, has won Best Narrative Short at the 2019 Festival International de Courts-Metrage d'Auteurs that was held in Quebec, Canada. The film will be receiving its Canadian premiere at the festival awards night on November 9, 2019, which is going to be held at the Barberivain Cultural Center of Sainte-Barbe, Quebec.
This is the second award for Creation. The film won Best Music at the 2019 Top Indie Film Awards in Tokyo earlier this year, with the score written by the Australian composer Peter Cavallo. Violin solo was performed by Joni Fuller, sound mix was the work of Mirko Sukovic. The motion graphics and artwork of Creation were done by the VFX artist Antonia Harris. The executive producer of the film is Mariella Delia.
The award-winning short documentary RED GLORY, an Avinu Films production directed by Marcelle Abela, with music by Mirko Sukovic, has been selected to be part of the Professional Library of the 2019 Mercato Europeo del Cinema Giovane e Indipendente [European Independent and Young Film Market]. This is the first and only market which is dedicated exclusively to independent films and films for young people. The Market, organized by the 9th Social World Film Festival in conjunction with the Film Commission of the Campagna region, will be available to buyers and producers at the Castello Giusso (the castle of Charles II of Anjou) in Vico Equense, Naples, Italy, on August 1-3, 2019.
